In view of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) we value and are committed to external partnerships with Christian mission and ministry beyond our church. Jesus is Lord of the nations. Therefore we value our responsibility to serve in the spread of the gospel and all it entails both locally and globally.
St George’s is in partnership through prayer and financial support with a number of mission partners. A bimonthly prayer time is held to focus on praying for them. Regular payments are made to each partner to enable them to carry out the work God called them to do. Mission partner prayer points are also available regularly in the church foyer.
Stuart and Alison serve in Trujillo, Peru. They have established Bible study groups, English classes, book clubs for adults and children and supported the local church especially in church planting. They have three young children who share in their experience of spreading the Gospel. (www.pioneers.org.au)
Christian Education in Schools
This ministry provides lessons in 33 ACT schools for children whose parents give permission to attend. The program encourages students to seek, question and explore the big story of the Bible and God’s love for them in Jesus. (www.ceis.org.au)
Scripture Union ACT (SUPA Clubs)
SUPA Clubs (Scripture Union Primary Age) are Christian clubs for kids operating in primary schools. It is an exciting time with games, craft, singing, drama, stimulating stories from the Bible, and the occasional treat. It gives children an opportunity to investigate some of life’s challenging questions. SUPA Clubs operate in schools with the permission of the principal and they are staffed by volunteers from the local community and churches. Children must have permission from a parent or guardian to attend a SUPA Club.
